The Storm

He removed the feathers off her wings

He challenged her intellect, she no longer sings

He betrayed her hope, her every desire

Till her heart broke, then burnt in fire

Beware, be very aware the storm is coming…

His eyes had a gaze that lied to her

His words had a knife that pierced through her

His smile was nothing but a hollow promise

Yet she believed knowing something was amiss

Beware, be very aware the storm is coming.

Her breathless sighs spoke of fear

Her anxious thoughts never seem to disappear

His once beloved charming embrace

Remains a sorry wrinkle on her face

Beware, be very aware the storm is coming.

The dark lords spoke of the very end

Yet she looked ahead with a will to amend

Every wrong that he spoke of her

Every song that he stole from her

Beware, be very aware the storm is coming…

Clouds come and clouds go

Her resolute faith refused to let go

He questioned her soul’s depth and sanctity

Murdered her love’s purpose and honesty

Beware, be very aware the storm is coming…

Time and again he was warned by all

Not to belittle her, for he will fall

He boasted of his grip so strong

If only he knew he was so wrong

Beware, be very aware the storm is coming…

He destroyed slowly her very being

Crushed her smile till she stopped breathing

The Gods kept silent, but still kept looking

They knew her well, time won’t stop ticking

Beware, be very aware the storm is coming…

The nights were long, the days too short

She wanted to escape but she could not

A cornered soul desperate to break away

His unholy touch maligned her every day

Beware, be very aware the storm is coming.

For when the storm awakens, the sky would thunder

Her silent wrath will in turn plunder

Blinding his sight with wind and dust

Till his tainted blood turns into rust

Beware, be very aware the storm is coming…
